About Us
Blackbird Karaoke strives to provide an atmosphere of mutual support among our people. We’re all just trying to express ourselves. Clap for the good singers and clap even harder for those singing for the first time or are just trying their best. We can’t all be Taylor Swift or Michael Bolton, but let people try.
Built on the legacy created by Dog and Pony Sound (and later Canine Sound & Vision), Blackbird Karaoke is happy to continue a 25-year tradition of fostering acceptance and inclusion at our shows in Ottawa.

The Vibe

Your Hosts
[Blackbird]
has hosted karaoke shows for several years in dozens of Ottawa establishments and countless private gigs.
He is a huge music nerd and considers it a privilege to have experienced the best years in music history.
[Urchin]
is proud to carry on the traditions and skills of the karaoke hosts who came before them.
They also sing in a queer choir and have performed in Ottawa, Halifax, and in the U.S.A.
[Cormorant]
Ian is a very occasional fill-in host. He’s seldom seen, much like the Sasquatch, he too has a tendency to be a bit ornery and unkempt.
If you see him in the booth, approach with caution . . . and whiskey.
He’s probably up past his bedtime.
[Dogifer]
is the GOAT in the Ottawa karaoke scene.
Future appearances will be few, but they will be must-attend parties.
